This relatively small all-residential neighborhood bordering Rock Creek Park is characterized by large upscale detached homes, many of which are infused with distinctive architectural features of earlier eras. Here you’ll find mostly Colonial, Tudor, and Mediterranean revivals, with a pocket of mid-century modern homes and a few ranch-style homes sprinkled among the older homes. A pocket of front porch Wardman-influenced row homes just off 16th Street also contributes to the cosmopolitan flavor of the neighborhood. A few newer or recently renovated homes offer contemporary-style living.
Whatever the home style, Crestwood charms the urban dweller with its beautiful tree-lined streets framed by green lawns and blossoming trees, just a 10-min drive from downtown DC. Residents enjoy the hiking and biking trails of the adjacent Rock Creek Park but must drive to food markets, restaurants, and shopping districts.
