Welcome to Dupont Circle Area
One of DCs oldest and most densely populated centrally located urban neighborhoods, Dupont is a lively mix of residential and commercial, mostly attached structures that serve a very international population. Typically, large townhomes line the narrow streets of this historic district, along with condominium buildings, art galleries, embassies, think-tank, and law offices. Early 20th Century Victorian, Beaux-Arts and Italianate-style townhomes give the neighborhood its distinct character and come with rare-gem-quality prices.
Restaurants, specialty shops, cafes, bookstores, and small convenience places are clustered along Connecticut Ave near the Circle and sprinkled through some side streets. Large office buildings, exclusive clubs, and luxury hotels draw visitors from throughout the world. The Dupont Metrorail station has made the neighborhood one of the most popular with non-driving DC city-dwellers. Parking is difficult and parking space rental or purchase trades at a premium.
